Who we are:
Mearns Archers is a small but growing archery club based in Laurencekirk. The club was set up in 2014 and meets every Wednesday night at the new Mearns Academy Sports Hall in the winter season and in Mearns Academy playing field during the summer season.
Mearns Archers is always looking for new club members! We often run beginner’s courses. If interested please let us know.
Not only is archery great for improving self-confidence and hand-eye co-ordination, but it is also great for relaxation, patience, control, exercise and building strength.
In addition, it is great for socialising and making new friends. You are guaranteed a friendly and welcoming environment!!
There is no maximum age to start learning archery, and we accept members from as young as 10 years old if accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
Where we meet:
Club sessions at Laurencekirk are on Wednesday evenings
From September to April we shoot indoors between 6.45 – 9.15 pm
From May to September we shoot outdoors on the old academy playing field between 6.30-9.00pm.
We also have access to an outdoor range at Drumtochty for field and target shooting, all year round, 7 day a week.
Who can attend:
Membership affiliation to STAFAA, is required after completion of a beginners course.
Visitors who are members of STAFAA, SFAA, AGB or other internationally recognised associations are always welcome.
